WHAT KIND OF WAX DO YOU USE FOR YOUR CANDLES?

All of our candles are made using non-toxic, biodegradable, all natural soy wax made from sustainably sourced US grown soybeans.

WHAT is the white coating on my candle?

Frosting is a natural effect in candles unique to vegetable waxes, especially soy. It is the natural wax re-crystallizing and trying to return to its natural state. It looks like small, white crystals on the top of the candle or the side of the jar. 

 

Starfield Candle Company uses 100% natural soy wax without additional additives to prevent frosting, therefore frosting may develop over time. Frosting is especially common in 100% natural wax and we do our best to minimize this effect, however, please note this is a normal effect on natural soy candles. This in no way will affect how the candle burns.

WHAT are some best practices for candle burning?

  • Burn your candle for a couple of hours when first lighting it. Allowing the top layer of wax to fully melt will ensure that your candle will burn evenly for the next lighting. Wax has a memory so it is important not to skip this step to make sure you get the most even burning out of your candle. If your candle doesn't burn all the way to the edge for the first burn, it will begin to tunnel and won't burn evenly next time (and future lightings).

  • Trim your wick to 1/4" before each lighting. The longer the wick, the quicker your candle will burn, so trimming it will make it last longer. It also prevents black smoke from occurring and ensures the glass isn't over-heating.

  • Keep the lid on the jars when not in use to prevent dust from settling on the candle. If your candle does collect some dust, you can use a wet cotton pad to remove the dust.

  • We recommend burning the candle for no more than 4 hours. Should your glass turn black due to the candle having been left to burn for too long, simply wipe off the glass with a wet cotton pad or paper towel and dry before use. If mushrooming occurs, (the black mushroom shape at the tip of the wick resulting from carbon buildup), trim the buildup off and trim the wick to 1/4" before burning.

WHICH CARRIER DO YOU USE FOR SHIPPING?

Orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Other delivery methods and services may be added in the future.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR ORDERS TO SHIP?

All orders will ship within 3-5 business days of your order, unless otherwise specified. We will notify you immediately should there be any delay.

 

For domestic orders, delivery can take anywhere between 1-7 business days, depending on your location.

For international orders, please allow up to three weeks for delivery.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

We want you to be happy with your purchase! If you aren’t completely satisfied with your order, unused and undamaged items can be returned within 7 days of receipt. Once we receive the returned item(s), a refund back will be issued to your credit card. Customers will be responsible for the cost of return shipping.

In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, you may return it for a replacement or a full refund, as long as you return the item within 7 days. For damaged items, Starfield Candle Co. will cover the cost of return shipping.
